Featured speaker Erin Babnik

Erin Babnik, a Canon Explorer of Light, will present four programs throughout the day. She is known internationally as a leading photographic artist, educator, writer, and speaker.

She’ll address:

  • Focal lengths for outdoor photography
  • Changes in light outdoors
  • Using multiple exposures for extreme landscapes
  • Balanced artistry and technique

Opportunities for hands-on practice and more

But there’s more! It’s a full day of learning that includes a box lunch, tips on butterfly photography from John Pennoyer, opportunities to visit with local vendors, door prizes, shooting opportunities, and a chance to see award-winning images from the Spring Break photography competition. And don’t forget to bring your camera! Demonstration/practice areas will be set up to provide opportunities for photography.

Photograph raptors

The University of Minnesota will have raptors available for you to photograph outdoors during the lunch period. And this year we’ll have a scenic area that will give you a natural background for your raptor photos.

Portrait Photography

There will be a portrait photography area with strobes, flashes, reflectors, and props with the help of Dave Johnson of National Camera Exchange. The only thing you need to bring is your camera with a 100mm lens (full frame) or 70mm (crop sensor). We will also have a model, and Katie will be dressed in WWII clothing and accessories.

See you there!
